Addiction Reality Check Assessment

Addiction is a huge problem in the world. It is a consequence of the low level of emotional competence world-wide. People are just not good at handling their emotions and they use their addictive behavior or substance addiction to “self-medicate” to get relief from their unresolved emotional pain. The scope of this problem is huge.

Alcohol –

  • Drinking too much can harm your health. Excessive alcohol use led to approximately 88,000 deaths and 2.5 million years of potential life lost (YPLL) each year in the United States from 2006 – 2010, shortening the lives of those who died by an average of 30 years. Further, excessive drinking was responsible for 1 in 10 Deaths among working-age adults aged 20-64 years. The economic costs of excessive alcohol consumption in 2010 were estimated at $249 billion, or $2.05 a drink.

Smoking –

  • Worldwide, tobacco use causes nearly 6 million deaths per year, and current trends show that tobacco use will cause more than 8 million deaths annually by 2030.
  • Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including more than 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. This is about one in five deaths annually, or 1,300 deaths every day.
  • On average, smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers.

Drugs –

  • Drug abuse kills about 200,000 people worldwide each year, according to a new United Nations (UN) report. Global treatment for drug abuse would cost $250 billion per year if everyone who needed help received proper care, according to the UN.

These numbers don’t include the other substance addictions such as sugar, etc. They also don’t include behavioral addictions like sex addiction, compulsive gambling, eating disorders, etc.

The problem has been that the real basis of addictions has not been well understood and truly effective solutions to the problem of addiction have not been available in the past. It may seem a bit outrageous to say so but at Inner Greatness Global we are having a lot of success with people learning how to fully resolve their traumas and emotional pain so that they simply don’t have to self-medicate any more.

The IGO Addiction Recovery Support Program is a 3 step process:

  1. Resolving the traumas that are the basis of your addiction
  2. Using the appropriate type of Inner Greatness Energy Drops to cancel out the energy of the addictive substance (if you have a substance addiction). This makes it much, much easier to not relapse
  3. Becoming emotionally competent and learning to use the Pure Awareness Techniques frequently as new emotional stresses show up in your life, which they inevitably will.

People often don’t realize that they are using their “drug of choice” to self-medicate so they don’t have to feel some old emotional stress or pain. So the real answer to becoming a non-addict permanently is to get rid of the old unresolved emotional pain from the past and make sure not to accumulate new pain but instead to resolve it immediately.

Take the assessment and then you can start the process of learning to resolve your emotional pain by using the Vaporize Your Nightmares app either on an iPhone or from the version on the website. You can use this app even if you don’t have nightmares as it guides you through the process of starting to resolve your old unresolved traumas. And that’s much easier with the Pure Awareness Techniques than you would think based on any past experiences you have had.

After you have made significant progress resolving some of your old unresolved emotional pain, take the assessment again and see how much you have progressed. You’ll be able to compare your previous scores with the new ones to get a sense of your improvement.

Rate yourself on a scale of 0 to 10 for the following statements.

0 = no or not at all

10 = yes or the worst possible
